Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 26, 2026
Our Privacy Commitment
Rapid Reader is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your reading habits and content are private. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We DO NOT Collect
- Your Reading Content: Documents, books, or articles you import or read in the App are stored locally on your device only. We never access, transmit, or store your reading content.
- Reading History: What you read, when you read it, and your reading statistics stay on your device.
- Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information.
- Location Data: We do not access or collect your location.
- Advertising Data: There are no ads in Rapid Reader. We do not collect or share data for advertising purposes.
Website Analytics (Google Analytics)
Our website (rapidreaderapp.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes:
- Pages visited and time spent on pages
- Device type, browser, and general location (country/city level)
- How visitors found our site (search engines, direct visits, etc.)
Google Analytics uses cookies to track website visits. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Important: Google Analytics is only used on our website, NOT in the Rapid Reader App. The App itself contains no tracking, analytics, or data collection.
Apple In-App Purchases
If you subscribe to Rapid Reader Pro, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple may collect payment and transaction information according to their privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that a subscription is active - we do not receive your payment details, name, or other personal information.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your reading progress and app settings may sync across your Apple devices through iCloud. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service and follows Apple's privacy practices. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Project Gutenberg Content
The App provides access to public domain books from Project Gutenberg. When you browse or download books from Project Gutenberg, you are accessing their servers directly. This interaction is subject to Project Gutenberg's privacy policy, not ours.
Safari Share Extension
When you use the Safari share extension to save articles, the content is processed locally on your device and stored in the App. No data is sent to our servers.
Data Security
Since your reading data stays on your device, your data security depends on your device security. We recommend:
- Using a device passcode or biometric lock
- Keeping your iOS software up to date
- Enabling iCloud backup if you want to preserve your reading data
Children's Privacy
Rapid Reader does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, the App is safe for all ages.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store your personal data, there is no data for us to access, correct, or delete. Your reading data is entirely under your control on your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
