1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Rapid Reader ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Rapid Reader is an RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) speed reading application for iOS devices. The App provides access to public domain books from Project Gutenberg, allows users to import their own documents (PDFs, EPUBs), and includes a Safari share extension for saving web articles.
3. License and Usage
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove or modify any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems
4. Free Version and Pro Subscription
Rapid Reader offers a free version with reading limits and an optional Pro subscription for unlimited reading and advanced features. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and follow Apple's subscription terms. You may cancel at any time through your device settings.
5. User Content
You retain all rights to documents and content you import into the App. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any content you import. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not access, store, or transmit your imported documents to our servers.
6. Third-Party Content
The App provides access to public domain books from Project Gutenberg. We do not own this content and are not responsible for its accuracy or availability. When you save web articles through the Safari extension, you are responsible for respecting the copyright of the original content.
7. Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. The App itself does not include any tracking or analytics. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. We are not responsible for any reading speed improvements or lack thereof.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
